Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that defies conventional forecasts, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Revealed
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious confrontation pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of banned rituals and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine cult.
The adventure concentrates on "peculiar tests and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana together with multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's third complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
